Tarkarli is a quaint coastal village in Maharashtra, and residential to beautiful white sand seashores and serene temples. This lovely seashore was witness to the supersonic pace and sound of MIG-29K and LCA (Mild Fight Plane) Tejas on December 4, because the Indian Navy celebrated the Navy Day at Tarkarli in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The setting solar and the the magnificent Sindhudurg fort shaped the proper backdrop as Aces of the Indian naval aviation carried out beautiful stunts within the sky.
“जलमेव यस्य, बलमेव तस्य”—the one who controls the ocean is all highly effective. Indian Navy showcased its operational prowess, battle preparedness and different capabilities with a number of demonstrations. It was hosted by Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Workers. Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort in Malvan at 4.15pm and attended the celebrations together with Chief of Defence Workers (CDS) Common Anil Chauhan. Native populace had thronged to the seashore at Tarkarli to witness Navy Day celebrations and parade.
The rehearsals went on from November 29 to December 3.
The demonstration started with the Marine Commandos of the Indian Navy. Six marine commandos jumped from the ALH helicopter from 8000ft. Round 10 minutes later, they landed on the rostrum in entrance of the chief visitor, PM Modi. They have been introduced mementos. The commandos then demonstrated slithering operation on Gemini boats and seashore assault and neutralising enemy put up within the sea.
