The Kerala State Movie Awards 2022 have been declared on Friday. The awards have been introduced by Minister for Cultural Affairs, Saji Cheriyan. Mammootty bagged the award for Greatest Actor for his efficiency in Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam and Vincy Aloshious walked away with the trophy for Greatest Actress for the portrayal of the title character in Rekha.
The race for Greatest Actor was tight with Mammootty, Kunchacko Boban and Soubin Shahir among the many frontrunners. Kunchacko Boban obtained a particular jury point out for his efficiency in Nna Thaan Case Kodu. The announcement, earlier scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed because of the state mourning within the wake of the dying of former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy. Mahesh Narayanan bagged the award for Greatest Director for Ariyippu. Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam was adjudged Greatest Movie.
A complete of 42 movies have been shortlisted for the ultimate spherical of the awards. The jury was headed by filmmaker Goutam Ghosh.
